At Women from the Far West (WFFWO), our overarching vision is to foster a world in which refugee women from the Far West, residing in the United Kingdom and Sudan, can flourish and succeed. We are dedicated to empowering these women through the safeguarding of their rights and providing unwavering support in their asylum-seeking endeavors. Our unwavering commitment lies in ensuring that these women have access to the vital legal assistance and guidance essential for confidently navigating the intricate immigration system.
As fervent women activists, we prioritize enlightening our members and the wider community on women’s rights and human rights, particularly within the intricate landscape of immigration. By actively engaging with women’s organizations in countries such as Rwanda, Sudan, and Ukraine, we seek to glean insights from their experiences in post-war and post-massacre scenarios. This knowledge exchange will enable us to forge effective strategies that bolster refugee women in their pursuit of safety, stability, and justice.
Our forward-thinking approach extends well beyond immediate legal aid. Our ultimate ambition is to foster settlement and stability for refugee women, fundamentally transforming their lives for the better. We firmly believe in the profound significance of peacebuilding and conflict resolution, recognizing that creating an environment conducive to peace is vital for improving the well-being of women and their families.
To realize our vision, we offer an array of services tailored to address the unique needs of refugee women. Our devoted team conducts personalized home visits, provides guidance in filling out application forms, offers budgeting support, and organizes training courses on nutrition and hygiene. We understand the importance of holistic well-being, thus making counseling services available to cater to the emotional and psychological needs of our members. Furthermore, we promote physical well-being through invigorating activities such as Souaka dance, yoga, and meditation.
